Evan Dieterle / Senior / President
|
Hey everyone! My name is Evan Dieterle, and I am hyped to be your President! I am a senior from Champlin, MN, studying computer science and minoring in leadership. I’ve been running cross country and track since 9th grade (that was the first year my high school ever had an official sport!). Outside of running, I like to explore the outdoors and play any sport. This year is my fourth year with the club, and I’m still loving it. There are a lot of fun activities and great people. Don’t be afraid to check out the practices or say hello!

Alex Dieterle / Senior / Vice President of Distance
|
Hi everyone! My name is Alex and I am excited to be your Vice President of Distance! I help out with workout planning and our annual trip to Eau Claire for the half-marathon! I am a senior from Champlin, MN, and I am majoring in mechanical engineering. I ran track and cross-country in high school and I think it is really cool that we get to run different races and distances in track and cross-country than in high school. I have met so many new friends through running and I think this club is a great opportunity to meet new people and explore off campus. Outside of running, I like to play basketball and do anything outside.

Isaac Dittrich / Senior / Vice President of Sprints
|
Hey squad! I’m Isaac, and this year I get the opportunity to be Vice President of Sprints and Field! I am a Senior studying Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior, and this will be my fourth year with TURC! I have been running track since middle school, but have found most of my success in college. I run the 100 and 200, and am considering running some 400s this upcoming season. I’m excited to be a part of writing workouts for all skill levels and watching the team improve on and off the track! I look forward to seeing you all at meets, practice, and social events! If you have any questions about the club, sprints, field, or anything else, shoot me a message. I look forward to seeing everyone again and meeting many new people. Don’t be afraid to come talk to me about anything and everything! Peace!

Antonio Guerrero-Garcia / Junior / Treasurer
|
Hello, I’m Antonio, your treasurer! I’m from New Hope, Minnesota. I'm a junior studying chemical engineering and data science. I started running cross country and track my sophomore year of high school and raced the last two years with the club. Some of my favorite collegiate and even lifetime memories are with the club. One of my favorite memories is playing rock-paper-scissors with goldy the gopher during one of our indoor meets(I lost 2-1).
I enjoy racing but more than that I love hanging out with people in the running club. During my first two years I have enjoyed going to our volunteering and fundraiser opportunities, especially the ones where we got to eat food and the run club would get a cut. Joining the run club has been the best decision I've made in college and I'm sure if you joined you would think the same. Also If you join the club you may also get a chance to play goldy in a match of rock-paper-scissors. Feel free to reach out to me with your questions and concerns! |
Charlie Tripp / Senior / Race Team Director
|
My name is Charlie Tripp, and I’m your Race Team Director this year. I’m a senior studying Aerospace Engineering. Running with the club is always a blast, whether it is a daily run, a grueling workout or a race I always had fun. One of my favorite aspects of the club is our races. While I am normally toward the back of the race, I am still supported by my amazing teammates. I’ve loved every second of being in the Run Club. I joined with zero running experience and haven’t looked back since. Outside of running, I enjoy cycling, Nordic skiing, Gopher hockey, and photography.
If you ever have questions about racing or the club in general, please feel free to reach out — I’m always happy to help! |
Jack Olson / Junior / Men's Distance Captain
|
Yo! My name is Jack Olson, and I'm the Men’s Distance Captain for the 2025-26 school year! I am from Chanhassen, Minnesota and am currently a Senior studying Finance. I have run Cross Country and Track since I was in 6th grade. I have been very fortunate to have run with and learn from some of the very best runners and coaches in Minnesota. I love to play lots of sports and last semester I played intramural basketball (3v3 + 5v5), volleyball, and soccer. I enjoy sports not only for the competitive aspect, but the team aspect as well! Many of my best friends have come from the teams I’ve been on. This has helped me realize that it will always be bigger than what shows up on the statsheet. Basketball and running are by far my two favorite sports and I also get consumed by watching them both. As you can see by my picture I am a huge wolves fan and if the wolves are in town there is a good chance I am at Target Center (shoutout to the $10 tix). Being a part of the Run Club has allowed me to make a lot of connections with people who are equally goal oriented as I am, pushing each other to be better. I am very glad I gave the club team a second shot my freshman year. I thought it would be nearly impossible to join the club so ‘late’, but they all welcomed me and I had the best track season of my life with their support. As one of the Men’s Distances Captains, I get to work alongside my fellow officers to make workouts/training plans for each season. A lot of work has gone into these plans as I, and the other officers, want you to be put in the best position possible to reach your goals. I am very open to talk about anything running or not running related!

I am so excited to help create and lead workouts for all of you, as well as getting to know everyone! Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or just want to talk!

Maria Makarova / Sophomore / Sprint Captain
|
Hi everyone! My name is Maria Makarova and I am super excited to be your sprints captain! I am a sophomore originally from Woodbury, MN majoring in Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development on a pre-med track. I have ran track and field since middle school. You’ll see me running all types of relays, the open 400, and my favorite, the 4x400 relay. I also tend to get drawn into some 5ks here and there just for fun. Although I have only been a part of the team for a year, I couldn’t have made a better decision than joining the Minnesota Run club. Whether it’s the lifelong connections you form, or the unforgettable memories you make on the track and at social events, Run club is really a wonderful place to continue running as well as meet some awesome, hardworking and fun people! Outside of running, I am a big traveler and outdoorsy person. I love exploring the cities and spending time with family and friends. I am also a huge sports fan! Whether it's football, hockey, track, tennis, you name it! Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, comments, concerns or just to chat in regards to TURC, the sprints team, the most recent game, or anything else that comes to mind! Also, don't hesitate to say hi if you see me around campus! I look forward to meeting you guys! :)

Savannah Wickam / Junior / Field Captain
|
Hey TURC! I’m Savannah, a third-year Environmental Science major here at the U! I’m from Plymouth, MN and I’ve been doing track since high school. My events are shotput, discus, and javelin (aka the mini bowling ball, metal frisbee, and long medieval spear). Whether you’ve thrown in high school or want to try a new event, I would love to train with you! If you’re a jumper, let’s talk too, I’d love to get you connected! When I’m not throwing, you can find me hiking, lifting, skiing, cooking something new, or checking out cute coffee shops around the cities.
This club means the world to me, I’ve found such a great community here, and I’m beyond excited to keep building it with you all. I’ll be studying abroad in Florence, Italy this fall semester, but don’t hesitate to reach out since I’ll be back in the spring ready to throw and hype you up at meets. Can’t wait to see what this year brings! |
Connell Hagen / Grad / Apparel and Branding
|
Hey everyone! My name is Connell, and this is going to be my fourth year with the run club. This will also be my second year as the uniform and apparel coordinator. I've ran on both the sprinting and distance teams at some point, so I've raced everything from the 60m to the marathon within the past couple of years. My favorite part about our club is how we are always trying to better ourselves with our competitive spirit, but we also don't have the high-pressure competitive environment that usually goes along with that. I'm a big fan of making sure that running is fun before all else, so if you want to run slow, I'll join you!!

Tyler Zupancich / Junior / Social Media and Events Coordinator
|
Hey! My name is Tyler, and I’m your social media and social events coordinator for the 2025-2026 season. I’m from Duluth, Minnesota, and I’m a junior studying History and Political Science here at the U. I hope to meet you all at our races and cool awesome social events, like the fall retreat or formal. Outside of running, I love to play music and go camping. Running cross country and track with TURC has been the highlight of college so far, and I’m excited to be a part of running (ha) the club that means a lot to me!

Avery White / Sophomore / Travel Coordinator
|
Hi! I’m Avery and I’m the travel coordinator for this year! I’m a sophomore from St. Louis, Missouri, and I’m studying environmental engineering. I ran track and cross country in high school and I ran distance this past year with the club. It’s such an easy way to meet UMN students outside of your major while getting good exercise! Run club was my favorite part of school last year and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Outside of running, I enjoy swimming, camping, doing puzzles, and watching movies with my sister. I can’t wait to see you at club this year! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Kyle Dieterle / Sophomore / Recruitment and Community Outreach
|
Hello! My name is Kyle Dieterle and I am the recruitment and community outreach officer. I am a sophomore and plan to major in Mechanical Engineering. I am from Champlin Minnesota which is only about 25 minutes away from campus. I have been a runner since 7th grade and my favorite race is the 5k. This is going to be my second year on the run club.
Even though I have only been on the club team for 1 year, the run club has been such a major part of my collegiate career and has been a ton of fun. It is a great way to meet others and make the large campus feel small. I am super excited for this year and please reach out to me if you have any questions! |
